The Food
Travel Tip #29: Cup Over Bowl
If you’re a tortillas soup lover like me, let me help you out. Order the cup, the bowl is massive and looks like it could feed two to three people. Our server was not very helpful when it came to describing the portion sizes and my mom ordered a bowl and was mistakenly (blessing in disguise) delivered a cup. The table behind us was brought out a bowl and it was then we knew the cup was the way to go! You can see more of their menu options here.
If you’re all about seafood when you’re dining near the sea, try the Shrimp and Mango Salad for both a seafood and Tex-Mex salad! Beautiful and tasty!
Good for Large Parties?
Yes! Of the restaurants we tried in the Surfside Beach area, El Toro offered the largest seating capacity and would be perfect for large parties. Clute has a few more other bigger restaurants if you’re needing to accommodate a large party, but don’t rule out Galveston! Click here to see a short list of restaurant options in Galveston that can serve large groups. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it give you a good jumping off point!

Have been to El Toro many times and love all plate lunches that I have tried . I don’t have any one thing to complain about. Everything I have eaten has been wonderful. Margaritas are fantastic. I would recommend this this restaurant to anybody for Mexican food. Love it
