Farley Girls Breakfast Pizza

Farley Girls: Best Brunch in Galveston

Update: It is with the utmost sadness that I share Farley Girls Cafe has changed ownership, menus and name. They are now known as Buck’s and still have some of the same menu items, but I have yet to go try out the “new” place. Yup, you guessed it, this was discovered on a trip to eat at Farley Girls.

Farley Girls Sign

Since discovering Farley Girls Cafe via Trip Advisor a little over three years ago, I have not visited Galveston without also visiting Farley Girls. I think you know how this post is going to go down.

Let me rave on Farley Girls for a minute.

I have NEVER had a bad experience, except for the one time I went and ordered waffles instead of getting the delicious breakfast pizza. Not to say the waffles are bad, but that breakfast pizza is what pizza lover’s dreams are made of, y’all. Also, when you order a carafe of mimosas, you’re getting a whole bottle of champagne with your orange juice. (Grapefruit, pineapple and cranberry are also options!) For $15, that makes me feel like I’m getting my money’s worth!

Travel Tip #12: Order the Breakfast Pizza
Farley Girls Breakfast Pizza

My boyfriend and I love to split the breakfast pizza, but more than that he loves when he gets the whole thing to himself. If it’s your first time visiting the Farley Girls Cafe you’re going to want to order the breakfast pizza ($12). Here’s what comes on it: Eggs (scrambled or sunny-side up) bacon, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese and green onion. Being the picky eater I am, I pick of the green onion for the slices I eat and surprisingly I enjoy the pizza best with the sunny-side up eggs!

Monday Morning, Rain is Fallin’

This particular post is over my most recent experience at Farley Girls. Our fishing trip in the gulf was rained out so we headed out for brunch. If you’ve already forgotten (or maybe haven’t read my recent posts), we were vacationing with around 30 people. And 17 of these people decided they wanted to try Farley Girls with us!

Blank & Grits

My mom is all about the “Eggs & Grits” which consists of two eggs on gouda and mushroom grits with sautéed spinach and tomatoes topped with lemon butter. An alternative to the breakfast grits is the Shrimp & Grits!

Farley Girls Shrimp and Grits

Here is where I must tell you I am a bad southerner. I don’t like grits! (Apparently my mom makes wonderful chili cheese grits.) But from the high praises from my mom and my uncle (who ordered the shrimp and grits), Farley Girls has some amazing grits and they sure do look appetizing! (Let me know what your impression of the shrimp and grits is below!)

And Then There Were Two

The last two breakfast suggestions come from my little sister who is turning 18 this week and my 5-year-old nephew. I handed Alex, my sister, my camera after adjusting the settings and let her snap a few pictures of her tasty and beautiful breakfast bowl. And if you’re wondering what’s in it, wonder no more: Scrambled eggs, spinach and tomatoes, topped with pepper jack cheese, guacamole and salsa!

If you’ve gotten this far and you’re looking for a bit of a “regular” breakfast item suggestion, how about fried eggs? My nephew loved his “dippy eggs” and this was the day after saying another restaurants dippy eggs were disgusting. Dippy eggs are best served with toast for dipping, at least that’s how he and his little sister like them! Also, a little side story on his perfectly untouched plate below. After seeing me take a picture of my uncle’s food, my pizza and Alex take one of hers, he patiently waited until I had the camera back in my hands to ask me to take a picture of his food. Equal parts funny and sweet, if you ask me!

Can’t beat a good brunch! I always feel foolish taking pictures of food before eating it (but of course I do it anyway) so I love that your nephew waited for you to take a picture of his before eating!!
